UN Gen. Assembly Rejects US Blockade on Cuba
For the 18th year in a row, the UN General Assembly passed on Wednesday a resolution condemning the almost-50-year-old US commercial, financial and economic blockade against Cuba.
On this occasion, 187 countries “two more than in 2008 - voted for the resolution entitled “Necessity of Ending the Financial, Commercial and Economic Blockade Imposed by the United States against Cuba”. Only three countries voted against while two abstained.
Once again, the US government, with its long-standing hostile and unilateral policy of economic siege against the Caribbean nation, was isolated by the international community.
