The study was published in Nature magazine.

After decades of research, the specialists of Imperial College in London and Harvard University observed how the protein is capable of transmitting its genetic information to human cells.

Exposing the integrase will help researchers improve the current therapy and avoid resistance to antiviral drugs and will allow developing new drug formulae, wrote the researchers.

More than 40,000 trials were necessary. However, the find is essential for the future of the disease.
