Air and Road Infrastructure Prioritized by Bolivian Government
The Bolivarian government gave US 787 million of the General Treasure of the Nation (TGN) to the construction of roadways and airports countrywide.
According to the bulletin of the Ministry of Public Works, Services and Housing, the public investment of the General Budget of the State 2010 is of US 1.80 billion, and 787.4 million of the total will be assigned to infrastructure, specifically roads.
Of the total amount for state investment, 32.6 percent will be allocated to the productive sector, 43.6 percent to infrastructure, 19 percent to the social sector and 5 percent to the remaining sectors.
The Confederation of Drivers of Bolivia (CCHB) reported that it will verify the condition of the roads in the country, owing to some problems in the states of Cochabamba, Beni and Chuquisaca.
CCHB Executive Secretary Franklin Durán assured that a partial report has been sent to the President of the Bolivian Highway Administration (ABC) Luis Sanchez so that relevant entities carry out the maintenance work needed.
